Nanyang Girls’ High School was set up by a group of leaders from the United League of China, who were deeply inspired by Mr. Sun Yet-sen’s view that women should receive an education in order to play a more active role in serving their country. Since its establishment in 1917, Nanyang Girls’ High School has remained true to her goal in grooming well-educated ladies who will contribute to society.
And in celebration of its 95th anniversary, we were honoured to be able to print their selection of photographs, essays -- all exemplifying its commitment to guided its girls in “勤 慎 端 朴 - Diligence, Prudence, Respectability, Simplicity”.
Cover Page: Simple. Focused
The cover design was really simple and allowed the reader to focus on what's important. Each cover photograph carefully chosen to tell the reader what the book is about. It's hence no surprise to use spot-UV to highlight each cover photograph, as well as the 95th Anniversary logo. Everything done to keep what's important in the focus of the reader
Photographs and Content
Maintaining consistency throughout the book, the photograph pages did not use special art paper. The photographs printed woodfree paper kept the reading experience consistent -- giving no special attention whether memories by photographs or by words, just like how they give no special bias towards any student. Every life important. Every contribution to the book the same.
The woodfree paper gave a rustic feel to the book, freezing all the contributions and thoughts in time, through the book.
